Student internships

Student internship is an integral part of any degree program. Gaining theoretical knowledge and practical skills during your studies, you can confront it with the professional reality. Thanks to the internships, you will gain valuable experience that may enrich your further career.

Student Career Advising Office

WSZiB Student Career Advising Office posts announcements of companies declaring their willingness to accept students for internship.

 

LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP MODULE:

 

UNDERGRADUATE degree program:

- during 3rd semester - 8 weeks (2 months)

- during the 4th semester - 8 weeks (2 months)

- during 5th semester - 8 weeks (2 months)

The internship lasts 24 weeks in total (the internship can be completed at one turn in full).

 

GRADUATE degree program:

- during the 2nd semester - 4 weeks

- during the 3rd semester - 4 weeks

- during the 4th semester - 4 weeks

The internship lasts 12 weeks in total (the internship may be completed at one turn in full).

 

PROCEDURE:

Students should report to the Student Service Center (praktyki@wszib.com.pl) in order to determine the type of internship and method of obtaining credit for the internship module. For:

- Undergraduate students at the beginning of the 3rd semester

- Graduate students at the beginning of the 2nd semeste

After selecting one of the five internship credit options, the student receives from the Student Service Center all the documents necessary to complete the internship and instructions on how to proceed.

 

OPTIONS OF COMPLETING AN INTERNSHIP:

1. Professional work in a managerial or other independent position during the studies. The internship is conducted entirely in the workplace where the student is currently employed. The student should submit the following documents to the Student Service Center:

- Employment certificate 

- List of tasks performed during the internship employment, signed by the student;

- Certificate of the learning outcomes, signed by the supervisor from the workplace.

 

2. Other forms of professional activity carried out during the studies (volunteering, work under other contracts). In order to complete the internship in this form, the student should submit the following documents to the Student Service Office:

- Certificate from the employer about the voluntary service

- List of tasks performed, signed by a representative of the institution/company or in the form of a declaration, signed by the student

- Certificate of learning outcomes, signed by a representative of the institution/company
 

3. Business activity in the student's own company. The internship is credited on the basis of business activity conducted by the student during the studies. In order to complete the internship in this form, the student should submit the following documents to the Student Service Office:

- Copy of the entry in the Business Activity Register (CEIDG) or an excerpt from the National Court Register.

- The scope of activities carried out by the student in the company.
 


4. Internship organized independently by the student or in a company cooperating with WSZiB.

In the first step the student reports to the Student Service Center in order to receive the contract to be signed for the organization of the internship. 
The prerequisite for signing the contract for the organization of the internship by a representative of WSZiB is the presentation of current accident insurance by the student (for the duration of the internship). 
The student should complete the internship during the studies. 
The student keeps a journal of professional practice, which, after the end of the internship, is approved by the tutor from the workplace and submitted to the Student Service Office.



5. Current professional work of the student not being a manager or at an independent post. 

The student completes the internship with the assistance of the WSZiB Internship Advisor. In the first step the student submits a certificate of employment to the Student Service Office and receives The internship journal. The student makes observations of management and administration processes at his workplace. The student consults the course of the internship with the WSZiB Internship Advisor.

 


The documents provided by the student are analyzed by the WSZiB Internship Advisor and finally approved by the Dean.
